When someone cannot work a shift, a chat message alone does not settle the schedule. Staff can request cover, and available work remains visible through the cover workflow. Claims are checked for overlapping work, availability and time off before a new assignment is accepted.

Staff opening shifthubapp.com reach sign-in, or go directly into the app if their session is still valid. The app can be added to a phone’s home screen. This keeps the everyday staff entrance simple while prospective customers explore the separate business website.

Set expectations for updates and notifications
Agree which updates belong in an announcement, which need a cover request and when managers expect a response. Push reminders depend on installation, device support and permissions; a request being submitted is not a guarantee that someone saw a notification. Review the intended phones and notification setup during onboarding.

Is the app a replacement for all company communication?
It provides work chat, announcements and scheduling-related requests. It is not a promise of a full HR knowledge base, training platform or every communication channel your company may need.
Does a chat message change a shift?
No. Confirm schedule changes through the scheduling or cover workflow so the assignment remains clear. Chat supports coordination; the published schedule is where staff should check their work.
Do employees need an app-store download?
No. Employees can use the web app and add it to their home screen. Push support and installation steps vary by device. The install guide explains the steps for supported phones.
