Service teams

A shared schedule for service teams working across sites.

For service work organized around fixed locations and recurring shifts, a clear handover starts with a clear plan. Bring assignments, availability and attendance into the same working week.

01 / YOUR WORKING WEEK

Keep the assignment tied to the site

A start time is only useful when the employee knows where they are needed. Schedule a location and role with each shift, and give staff a personal view of their work. Use recurring patterns for the normal week, then review absences and site-specific changes before publishing.

  • Plan people against recurring location coverage.
  • Keep site and role context with the assignment.
  • Collect availability before the schedule is published.

Make the next handover visible

Check who is clocked in and which shifts still need a person. If someone cannot attend, use a cover request so the assignment can be confirmed in the schedule. Team chat supports the conversation, while the published work stays the place to check the plan.

Review exceptions without reconstructing the day

Phone clock-ins and location context help managers investigate a surprising time record. A missing finish time can be reviewed with the employee, corrected with a reason and checked against other work. Clocking needs an internet connection; offline synchronization is not promised.

Check whether your service model fits

Shift Hub is worth evaluating for teams working predictable shifts at known sites. It is not currently a field-service dispatch platform: route optimization, customer appointments, job estimates and invoicing are not offered. Bring your location pattern, overnight work and manager-access needs to the walkthrough so the scope is clear.

Good questions. Clear answers.

A few things you might be wondering.

Have a question about your team’s setup? Talk it through with us.

Is Shift Hub field-service management software?

No. It focuses on workforce scheduling, attendance and team coordination. It does not provide customer booking, technician routing, job estimates or invoicing.

Can the schedule include overnight shifts?

Yes. Shifts can cross midnight, and time review uses the actual dates. The current configuration uses America/Toronto. We review your time zone and scheduling requirements before a new setup.

Can we use it for employees without reliable mobile internet?

Clock-in and clock-out need an internet connection. Include the actual sites and phones in your evaluation; Shift Hub does not currently offer offline clock synchronization.
